Unrolling: Don't unroll the backdrop on
a bare floor, use a plastic dropcloth or seamless
paper.
Hanging: Using at least two people,
the best way to hang the backdrop is to use 2 polecats
and a crossbar. For backdrops wider than 10' use
a center support with a sturdy crossbar such as
a 2" x 4" (which comes along as 16' and can be extended
with the use of angle irons).
Clamps: Use spring clamps with
rubber tips. If there are none, place a peice of
cloth around the tip. Place clamps every 2'. Do
not use "C" clamps, they can damage the painting.
Stapling: Backdrops can be stapled
to walls made with a wallboard. Do not use staplers
over 3/8" or hammer type guns and staple only on
the edges. All staples should be removed before
re-rolling. Do not use gaffers tape to secure backdrop.
Using Only A Section: To avoid
making a crease in the backdrop when using only
a portion of it, place a cyliner inside the fold
(you may use the one the backdrop came with).
Care: The backdrops can be vacuumed
or swept with a clean brush. Avoid walking on them
with shoes. Remove spills quickly with a damp sponge
or absorbent towels. To remove any wrinkles or creases
the backdrops can be steamed or ironed from the
reverse side of the painting. Please contact our
studio for additional information.
Wrap Up: Lower the backdrop onto
a clean floor. Have a third person to lift the bottom
to avoid wrinkling. Remove all remnants of props,
dirt and staples if used. Tape backdrop onto cylinder
leaving equal amounts of space both ends and roll
canvas as evenly as possible. Place backdrop in
canvas sack.
